What I really, really want is for Christmas is . . .

Friday, December 25th, 2009

I realised this year why it is that the older you get that Christmas does not work. Our ancient ancestors must have realised a few days after the shortest astronomical day was a very good excuse the celebrate the return of the light. Perfectly acceptable behaviour until the religious and secular marketing men turned up to subvert the festival and progressively brainwashed the masses to associate it with myths, untruths and lies. Jesus was not born on Christmas Day and didn’t even follow a solar calendar. The only relevance of Santa Claus is that the original Saint Nicholas was connected to Turkey, the namesake of poor bird that gets gutted and stuffed in sacrifice ever so-called Christ-mass.

Jesus

If you want to be loving at Christmas you don’t need to get drunk, sing silly tunes, send e-cards. I don’t take up space writing the whole list of ridiculous behaviours. I invite you to meditate. I already gave a dig at Christmas madness yesterday in my evil twin anti-enlightenment blog, Un-Enlightened Society, in a post entitled The Matrix Meltdown at Christmas: Real Goodwill. Like all things spiritual and transformational, don’t read it unless you want an alternative perspective.

Into the real meaning of this post. I realised that Christmas does not work for me because it is unreal. It’s a ritualistic game of fake sentiments. I prefer to be real. Unfortunately, Christmas is an invitation, even a strong pressure, a Spanish Inquisition to suspend reality and sincerity.

I don’t ask for much so I never notice that I don’t get what I would really want for Christmas. First I would want Christmas to go away. Instead, let’s all go to the forest and cook over a wood fire in a yurt. Next let’s have some real food. All that wasted money could be spent on top quality organic delicacies and exotic foods. Me what do I want? Oh, I’m not denying that I don’t enjoy a pair of woollen socks and cotton boxer shorts, but what I really, really want is a website. Yes, a website! A fully functioning up-to-date website with all the content that would explain, describe and give the experience and understanding of the Enlightenment Transmission and Teaching. Until I have that site I know that my teaching cannot go forward without having to reinvent the wheel again and again. Once the website is there then many other projects can go forward. That’s what I really want. Now let me open that gift wrapped box . . . Oho! It’s a . . .

Total Happiness In An Age Of Uncertainty

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Happiness is essential to human life. Without happiness mankind is set on a path to self-destruction. The results of unhappiness have been suicide, genocide, murder and act of destructions. An unhappy person is slowly dying inside.

No-one sets out to be unhappy in life. The result is forced upon a person by inhumane (unenlightened) treatment which will damage the human psyche. This creates a host of psycho-pathologies such as: chronic depression, paralysing inhibitions, low self- esteem, self-deceit, self-abuse, uncontrollable emotions and the splitting of the psyche.

When a person enters a pervasive state of fear, anxiety or dread then their psycho-immune system runs down. Consequently, they are unable to focus, plan or manifest. From the viewpoint of the Oshana Teaching Framework, they have lost their capacity for full awareness, energy and self-directiveness.

A person in such a state is vulnerable. Inevitably he/she gets used by others in ways which are contrary to his or her true nature. Self-loathing and fear result. Finally, the person becomes apathetic and cynical as all his attempts to improve his life meet with failure, rejection or misdirection. A person in this state is unable to meet their real (spiritual, emotional) needs and starts to prematurely shrivel up and die. Be aware: tragically, this process starts at a very young age.

Unhappiness has permeated to the core of this society because it values and rewards acts of unnecessary destruction and brutality to others and nature.

But there is hope. Fortunately, happiness does not depend on external circumstances but instead on an internal relationship. How you feel about yourself is essential. But positive thinking is not deep enough. Attempting to change your mental attitude is superficial and temporary. You will only feel completely good about yourself when you have no beliefs about yourself in the deepest layer of your mind.

It’s amazing how much time people spend on trying to make them self feel good via external means and fail. The average lifestyle, which depends heavily on self-medicating (via drink, drugs and distraction) is painful testimony to the inner bitterness that many people feel. People either bite their tongues or they bite other humans. Unfortunately, a growing number of people are obsessed with hurting others through watching violent amateur movies on YourTube and video games involving killing and rape.

The only medicine is happiness. The means and the goal to finding it are internal. Existing inside you is an unlimited spring of happiness. You were cut off from it at an early age. You can find that secret spring of joy and turn it into a waterfall.

The first lecture in the Life Mastery Lecture Series Total Happiness In An Age Of Uncertainty focuses on your happiness. Subsequent lectures will focus on the happiness of your partners, babies, children and eventually the whole planet.

Jesus’ Path – Increasing The Good Works

A Martian tuning over the last few weeks might assume that this blog is about nothing more than the Jokela High School massacre. He or she (presuming that Martians have sex like everyone else – gratuitous anthropomorphic search engine bait noted) might wonder what does this blog have to do with Spiritual Enlightenment? Of course, it has everything to do with Enlightenment. Healing the immense psychological trauma resulting from the Jokela tragedy has everything to do with the enlightened life.

An enlightened person cannot just switch off and pretend that the Jokela High School children are not intensely confused and afraid. Daily they walk the same corridors where the blood of their friends and family was spilled. The trauma radiates out of Jokela like a seismic tsunami engulfing Finland and the world. Reports of copy-cat incidents planned, thwarted and attempted are coming in daily.

I would like to report that it is all being taken care of by the authorities, by the angels or life – but it isn’t. If teachers are breaking down seven years after the Columbine Massacre then what waits around the corner in Jokela? We can’t solve every problem today, but are Finnish children convinced that they are any safer now? Nothing has changed. While the rest of Finland might forget, the Jokela kids will remember their scars forever.
[I can get back to the Jokela issue in another post or maybe even start a new blog about social issues.]

A Martian, I am sure, would read deeper into this blog. In some parts of the world, let alone the universe, good enlightenment teaching is non-existent. You don’t want to go there, believe me! The Martian will harvest all the enlightenment information which there is to get – the sweet with the sour, the rough with the smooth.

For good enlightenment teaching to happen there has to be digging. Digging to find a qualified teacher, digging for the right questions and the teacher has to dig to get all of the teaching out of himself. Not 1% of what I have spoken has ever reached the internet and not 1% of what I could teach has ever been spoken – so that’s less than 1/10,000 of the teaching is out in the wild.

I know some seekers hope that enlightenment is simply unending bliss – it is- but it is also never-ending responsibility to free souls from suffering. This leads nicely into the subject of Jesus. You know, Jesus? Hint: He isn’t the guy that invented Christmas, presents, trees and all. Do you know why He came to us?

What I wanted to let you see is some of the other stuff that I do, in this case, a post which I am writing to my Finnish students. Normally you won’t get to see those posts. This recent post is about the upcoming Jesus teaching event. I will post it as the next blog item soon. So much to write and so little time . . .

PostScript: The promised blog item was posted two days later, enjoy : To Be Good One Must Do Good
